POEMS ABOUT FINDING YOURSELF > A Half of Me

A HALF OF ME

Look at me.
It can’t be!
There is just
a half of me.
 
And this half
is getting small.
Soon it won’t be
there at all.
 
So, if I
intend to be,
I must take
control of me.
 
I must fatten
my small half,
give it love,
make it laugh.
 
And if I listen
to its fear,
my other half
may appear.
