POEMS ABOUT DEATH & MEMORIAL > A New Sun
A NEW SUN
So I didn’t feel the rain...
Or the sun upon my arms
But I am no longer lost,
And I feel a different Sun.
Oh, its warmth cannot be measured,
Warmest, purest Light of all.
And its light brighter than ever
Slowly lifting up my soul.
And the pain is all forgotten.
Fear of being alone...
Empty pictures... empty pockets...
My confusion... is all gone.
So, I cannot kiss my loved ones.
So, I didn’t feel the rain.
But I’m happy and I know now--
My losses were worth the gain.
As the new Sun warms me gently,
As the new Light shines for me,
May my laughter be remembered,
And, please, feel the rain... for me.
