BAD THOUGHT! BAD THOUGHT!
Bad Thought took over my mind,
And like a stubborn mosquito, Keeps flying up and down and round. I gave it my last veto! Yet like a dog that barks all night long, “Bad Dog!” the owner would yell, So does my Thought, it barks like a dog. Bad Thought! You drive me to hell! Bad Thought, Bad Thought, why are you here? What are you trying to say? It’s four in the morning, sleepless night two! Why can’t you go away? Injustice happened to me, and it hurts. I simply can’t find peace. It was their fault, I know for sure. But now this thought… oh, please. What if? What then? But why? Oh, stop! What can I do today? Hm… what if I open my mind and hear What my Bad Thought has to say? Not easy to hear this voice of conscience… As what if it is true? What if this Thought would dare to suggests, That I am guilty too? And so I finally accepted my part, My Thought stopped driving me mad. Bad Thought, Bad Thought, I must admit, That you are no longer so bad! LILIANA KOHANN © 2024 Artpeace Publishing |
