POEMS OF GRATITUDE & APPRECIATION > For My Beautiful Teacher
FOR MY BEAUTIFUL TEACHER
If I were to thank you for teaching my children, you’d say, “There's nothing to thank me for. I’m just doing my job.” If I were to thank you for being such a special person, you’d say, “There is nothing to thank me for. God made everyone special.” If I were to thank you for making me feel so welcome and hopeful, you’d say, “Oh, it’s our school’s policy.” If I were to thank you for going that extra mile to help my children reach their potential, you’d say, “There is nothing to thank me for. It is my duty.” So what can I thank you for? You remind me of a rose. When I look at one, I see incredible beauty, strength, dignity, and wisdom. I also see gentleness, tenderness, and compassion. So I want to simply thank you for being a beautiful flower in my children’s lives and in mine. LILIANA KOHANN ©Artpeace Publishing 2001 |
