POEMS ABOUT REGRET > Sending Wounds to Angels
SENDING WOUNDS TO ANGELS
Wounds, regrets, and sorrow,
They linger on, never gone,
Growing stronger day by day—
In winter, summer, spring, they stay.
Perhaps it’s time to let them go,
To send them to the heavens so
The angels there can bear the weight
And guide them to a kinder fate.
Then finally, at peace I’ll be,
Released from my captivity.
Beneath my cherished birch, I’ll rest…
At last, unburdened, free, and blessed.
