THERE'S A BUG IN MY BED!
 
There’s a bug in my bed.
Something bites me, this I know.
Every morning I wake up,
I see bug bites on my soul.
 
And I wonder, and I ponder.
I turn my bed upside down.
I keep looking. I keep searching.
Aah, this bug must be found!
 
I take magnifying glasses,
Look at every nail and spring.
Even though my friends keep telling,
“There is no such a thing.”
 
I’m convinced. I take my tools
And I break my bed apart.
There it is! “I finally found you!
What’s your name? Why do you bite?”
 
Little bug looked at me,
With its small, remorseful eyes,
“My name’s Guilt and I will bite
‘Till the day you realize
 
That the most important thing
You must do every day
Is what you resolved to do.
But you didn’t. And I must say
 
That until you do it right,
When it ought to be done,
Whether you like it or not,
I will bite. It won’t be fun!”
 
And so thus I learned my lesson;
Do what you promised. Do it all.
Well, of course unless you like
Little Guilt Bugs in your soul.
