Your Pharmacy of Poems
Your Pharmacy of Poems
In this literary journal of the healing poems, I will present to you poems, that in their own unique way, have led to the improvement of my life and to some of my reader's lives. I have been writing since I was a child and I used my poems, especially the funny ones, to uplift or make people around me happier. As I got older, I found my poetry to be a healing response to my own struggles, converting them to self mastery and success. Not ever really considering myself a poet, I thought of myself as an observer, an analyst, and a philosopher. I was also an explorer who loved traveling into the depth of our human psyche. My journal, full of observations, was also full of questions: What makes us trigger? What do we need to lead a more fulfilling life? Why is it so hard for people to talk about emotions, especially about the uncomfortable ones? What's the point of hiding behind the "happy" mask? etc. I never really knew the answers, until I learned to be open for the messages that the poems within my journal were trying to tell me.
Look at this journal as a collection of healing poetry and healing art, much like a Pharmacy of Poems. In a pharmacy you go to different sections where you can find specific medications to help you heal or to make you feel better. And so, in this site, you can select various topics, such as: Acceptance, Love, Anger, Joy, Procrastination, etc., and find corresponding poems. Throughout these pages you will find reflective questions to inspire you to dive deeply into your own experiences while enjoying the messages these poems have to share.
If you would like to recommend a poem or submit your own poem to The Healing Poems, please send it to [email protected].
FOR SUBMISSIONS of your own poem, please write what section your poem may belong to.

What is the goal of this journal?
A six year old boy, Adrian, was asked,
"If you could do anything in the world, what would you do?"
The interviewer expected an answer like, "I'd fly," or "I'd get all the toys I want," but the little boy answered with conviction in his voice.
"If I could do anything?... I'd help sad."
The interviewer was puzzled. She asked,
"You'd help sad?"
"Yes," the boy answered. "I'd help sad be happy. Simple."
You can hear the excerpt of this interview in this song below:
That boy was my 6 year old son, and that's definitively one of the goals of this site — to
MAKE YOU HAPPY!
I wanted to gather and organize my poems (and art) thematically so they are easy to find and you can use them as you need. Hopefully, with time, and your help, I can add poems of other artists as well.
If you have a comment or would like to share how one of the poems affected you, please let us know, and with your permission, we may place your comments under the specific poem.

THE TWO OF ME
Whenever I fail, or say something wrong,
Eat too much or spill some tea,
I immediately feel the pressure inside,
I get embarrassed and get mad—at me.
“You have to get off your own back,”
Said my good friend, Marie.
And thus I learned why I felt so heavy,
I’ve been carrying the two of me.

Replacing the Inner-Critic with a Constructive Coach
As a master of self-blaming, I tended to put myself down—a lot, often unaware that that's what I was doing. When my friend told me that I needed to get off my own back, I suddenly saw the image that I drew above. I then wrote this little poem. In the process of creating this, I felt some sort of separation that was happening in my mind... To read more click here.
When I share poetry...
When I share poetry, I share my soul. Ever since I was a young girl, I wrote songs and poems, and I participated in various poetry competitions. I loved reading simple children's poems that had a clever lesson, and I loved adding my own interpretations. One poem can speak many different languages. It depends how it is read. I believe that every good poem has its own heartbeat. It is such a wonderful feeling when that heartbeat is found, felt, and expressed. Poems are like songs. When they are expressed, performed, and not just read like a newspaper, they can truly touch one's heart.
I have to admit that I only like certain kinds of poems. They need to speak to me somehow. I don't like poetry that is too hard to understand. I don't like poetry that seems like a show of complicated expressions. I am not saying that those are not great poems. I am saying that these poems are not for me.
It's the same way with my poems and the poems of the artists we'll be choosing for this site. They may not be for everyone. I can only hope that you can find here something that will bring you joy, give you an idea, move you in the right direction— the direction of sunlight in your life. Just like in the song below, let this site be "...a safe place you always can come to and rest..."

"I hope that you have the strength to leave all that is unproductive, destructive, and miserable in your life, and I hope that you have the courage to welcome, to seek, and to embrace all that is good, constructive and wonderful."
